Patrick Grogan Brown, photographer
Light is often the subject of my work, and always the medium: from light drawn across the Vegas Strip and mirrored out of the neon of the Haight to a Gothic cathedral transformed by it. Subject or medium, my work with light can be viewed in the featured collections below. Scroll further to see the photographs sorted by specialty, beyond their designated collections.
A site built so friends and family can follow both my progress in the art form and the adventures I use photography as an excuse to embark upon, my hope is that it one day functions as a vehicle to self-employment. About
I make photographs of people, places and animals, and in my own work I paint with light itself.
About this site
Through careful collaboration, Claude and I have built this site as a way to showcase collections of photos accumulated across the last year. Much like my life, this site is a work in progress. Often lost in the adventure, I forget the photos I have set out to take. I now find myself lost again in the adventure, this time one of my own making, a rotating web graphic for a site I didn’t know would exist a couple days ago. From generated text to incomplete collections, much of this site remains unfinished or left in the capable hands of Claude. All AI-generated imaging, from the background to the border of my rotating feature reel, is composed entirely of images captured by me.

Client Testimonials
A sentence or two from a client about what it was like to work with you and what they thought of the photographs.
A second client's words. Short and specific works best: what you made for them and what difference it made.
A third quote, ideally from a different kind of work, such as an event or a portrait session.
