Pelican Point

White pelicans and the gulls of a bayside marsh, in golden evening light under the power lines that cross it: resting, preening, taking flight, and crossing the sky at sunset.

About this collection

This collection follows one marsh from late afternoon into dusk. White pelicans gather on its grassy islands to rest and preen, gulls rise from the reeds in their hundreds, and the pylons and wires that run across it are never far from view.

I was drawn to how the birds live alongside the lines and towers, and to the light that turns all of it gold. Write here anything about the place or the evening you’d like a viewer to know.
